According to a recent piece on npr, this is because the big name American companies have far greater oversight of their wholesalers, and the questionable crap goes to hole in the wall pizza dives (never eat at that place again, yosefblog!), and the rest goes to China. They may kill us with their faulty merchandise, but they will never break our spirit!
