dina is too cool

A couple of weeks ago, Dina restyled Bassie’s lunchbox:

I thought this might have been by chance (cf. U2’s ubiquitous Elevation Tour heart-in-a-suitcase logo [nicer but small one here]), but when I asked her what she made, she said “That’s Uncle Matt’s favorite band.” I’m still not sure if she was consciously playing on the heart-in-a-suitcase motif (which she has undoubtedly seen on posters at her grandparents’ house), but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt on that extra coolness.

    well… i’m happy she was thinking of me, hearts, seattle, and u2… and i suppose those symbols are ok for first order acquaintance with the band. of course, i would have preferred that she begin at the beginning, that is, as a 15 year old girl and the punk influenced iconographies of boy and war
