WHEREAS for a while, i’ve been wanting to start a bookclub.
but WHEREAS i don’t like to read anything for more than 3 minutes.
HENCE i’ve decided to start a superabridged bookclub, where you, the yosefblog community, and i, yosefblog, collectively judge superfamous books by the superabridgement of some superobsessed superweirdo.

first up: the tipping point, by malcolm gladwell.

oh, and if you’ve read the superverbose version, please keep your comments to yourself.

Jerry Rice and Sean Landeta are the only player’s left from the roster of Tecmo Bowl, and Roger Clemens and Julio Franco are the only players left from RBI Baseball. If that makes me feel old, imagine how those guys feel.

sober patch

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005

what’s the world coming to? now you can buy a topical patch that you put on before drinking to prevent hangovers. wow, you must really be a conscientiously prudent alcoholic to get one of these. but for those people, wouldn’t it be better to get a patch that just keeps the alcohol coming? everyone knows the hangover doesn’t start until you stop drinking!

amabuddy is myabuddy

This is the coolest thing i’ve seen all day…

I’m sure you all have experienced it. You go to Border’s, pick out a book. But then you remember you can get it on Amazon for cheaper, but how much? And how much are you willing to pay to get it right now as opposed to getting super-saver shipping and waiting two weeks. And maybe it has bad reviews anyway. So you decide to wait, you go home, look on Amazon, and realize it’s only $3 cheaper online. So you get back in the car, and go back to Borders. Now you wasted the whole stinkin’ day. Luckily, these stinkin’ days are over.

A couple of smart guys liked you enough to start Amabuddy, which is a phone number you can call into and it gives you amazon’s price and other info for any book by ISBN (it also works for DVDs). It also tells you what the average reader rating is (how many stars) and a list of similar titles you might also like. And all this for free. Wow!
