ooooh! A flag in the process of being sewn would no doubt be a very appropriate prop. And maybe… somehow make it clear that she ran out of stars after thirteen.

Do you think that unraveling an American flag halfway would be considered defacing it? I mean, it’s for a patriotic cause…This thread is now being monitored by the CIA.

gosh, i hadn’t considered at what point my flag would be in the sewing process. i was so caught up in my visions of the thimble. I think a ripped in half flag might cause some riots, but maybe if i soothingly told people that i was fixing it, they would be allayed.
