Laffy Taffy

The whole story began when I wanted to propose one of those stupid contest for this blog where people do stupid things and get attention for it. My idea was to challenge you dopes to see who could successfully submit the worst laffy taffy joke and actually get it printed. I rubbed my hands in glee imagining the senseless and/or cryptically offensive jokes that would be distributed on candy wrappers worldwide.

The only problem is that when I tried to find out HOW to submit the
jokes, I ran into a dead end.

After Googling around, I discovered that I was not the only one who found it impossible to submit jokes to laffy taffy and that the whole “joke” is quite possibly on us, the public, and that there is, quite realistically, no such thing as submitting jokes to laffy taffy at all!

The whole thing is one big fat scam. I am encouraging the consciencious public to harrass the hell out of Wonka candies.

No mercy.

Did You Leave the Electron Microscope Out in the Snow Again?

What a great site. The only problem I have is this line: “Snowflakes are temporary works of art. After just a few short minutes on the ground, a fallen snowflake will lose its ornate structure, its unique pattern that will never again be repeated.” Sounds too much like metaphysics to me … in any case check it out.

PS – These are my favorites. -MM

Vote for Jono!

Jono (the puppet, of “The Itche Kadoozy Show” fame) has entered the online purim costume contest: campus edition.
View his entry here.
Be sure to give him a perfect score- there’s an iPod at stake here, and the puppet could really use it.

Facts & Opinions in Cable Media and the Market Medium

John Stewart’s The Daily Show joked once that news used to be about at least in part about facts, fact checking, and reliability … now they report only the fact that Pundit A has this opinion and Pundit B another. Is the media doing its duty in a democratic society? Forums on this issue have yielded much heat and little light … what one has come to expect from cable news. So I was hoping yosefblog contributors could step up and promote the common good.

I won’t write me feelings so I can write them as a response to what someone else says. This way I the discussion won’t look like a monologue … but I know what Mike will say. He’ll say that we’re stupid to ask if the media is doing its duty before we know what that duty is. The answer to the first question necessarily depends on the second.
